Wet proofing would have to do more with doing different things to the foundation or stopping water from entering the building. Dry proofing would be something like flood vents

How about unshaded X?
That is just regular flood zone X. Traditionally you had preferred rates there, but you no longer have these as the national flood insurance program no longer uses flood zones to determine the rates.
Is this worse than AE?
Technically these are both in the 100 year area but pose different risks. For example AH may have an area near dams or canals. You can check the flood risk of the property here. www.floodinsuranceguru.com/find-your-flood-zone

Elevation certificate can be beneficial either way. Since grandfather rules no longer exist with NFIP prefirm does not have its own rates anymore
"V" zone construction is required in a SFHA.
There are building codes and flood plain management guidelines that have to be followed in SFHA. If not you could have a 1316 violation
Whats the difference in the coverage between private flood insur and flood insur from national flood insur programs
There are many differences we have them included in one of our videos that compares the national flood insurance program and private flood insurance. One of the big differences is that the national flood insurance program only offers up to $250,000 on a building and $100,000 on your personal belongings, it also does not provide replacement cost on your personal belongings. All national flood insurance program pricing should be the same, but it's different for each private company.

My realtor showed me this home in Palm Bay,Fl. This house is in a Flood zone X shaded. Yes there is a drainage district canal behind my backyard. I am aware they did say I do not need flood insurance. I would like to know how often this canal flooded? When was the last time it overflowed onto the properties? What are the differences between shaded and unshaded flood zone x?
